DIY Beaded Bookmark - Perfect Stocking Stuffer

Today I’m sharing a really cute little project which would make a perfect stock stuffer.

I love how this one turned out. It's very soft and pretty but you could make this in all kinds of colours using different beads.

Materials

The supplies you need to make this bookmark are really minimal:

Tools

The tools I used to make this bookmark are:

    Instructions

Watch the video or read the instructions below.

    Make the Wire Dangle

Make a loop in the end of the wire. If you’ve never done this before you can watch a tutorial here:

Thread on one bead cap facing up, one of the opaque beads, another bead cap facing down, and finally a stardust bead. Repeat this two more times.

Make a loop in the end of the wire by bending it over to a right angle on top of the beads.  Trim the wire to 1cm, then make a loop using the round nose pliers.

    Put on the Charm

To add the butterfly charm, open one of the loops, put on the loop of the butterfly charm, then close the loop.

    Add the Focal Bead

Thread the waxed cord through the other loop.  Take it up enough so that you can tie a knot. Tie a knot in both of the ends about 1cm away from the loop. Pull it nice and tight.

Thread on the bubblegum bead, making sure that it slips over the knot.  If you need to, trim the cord so that it’s hiding inside the bead.

Thread on the Tibetan Silver bead cap, making sure it faces the bead.

Tie another knot just above the bead cap.

    String the Other End

Trim the cord to approximately 50cm (20 inches) if necessary.  Thread on a bead cap, three of the opaque beads, then one stardust bead. Tie a knot in the end. Check that the knot is large enough to stay inside the crimp cover.

Place the crimp cover over the knot and squeeze it shut, making sure that it hides the beads.

Tie a knot above the beads.

    Jewellery I’m Wearing

In this video I’m wearing my silver foil necklace.

I’m also wearing my Chain Hoop Earrings.
